The Scottish Rite presents further lessons of Masonic ideals with the introduction of the degrees 4 through 32. These degrees are broken into four sets which are represented by the Lodge of Perfection, the Council of Princes of Jerusalem, the Chapter of Rose Croix, and the Consistory. They also help support and sponsor many Masonic and civic activities but are known for supporting research into the causes of schizophrenia, and sponsoring the Leon M Abbott Scholarship at three universities. Anyone who is a member in good standing of a Blue Lodge may petition to join.
